FOX DHX 2022+ Full DIY Rebuild Toolkit

A streamlined rebuild toolkit for 2022+ FOX DHX coil shocks. This generation is much easier to service than older DHX models.

Foxh DHX2 shown in the picture, the IFP Depth procedure is the same.

What it does
  • Enables a complete 50 h or 200 h service on FOX DHX 2022+ shocks.
  • Allows oil changes and seal replacement using standard hand tools plus the tools in this kit.
  • Provides safe, repeatable handling of the damper during service (shaft clamping + accurate IFP depth setting).

With this kit and basic shop tools, you can service the DHX properly

Compatibility
  • Designed for: FOX DHX 2022 and newer coil shocks.
  • Works with: standard and trunnion configurations (see “Optional tools” below for trunnion-specific holding/torque).
Required tools (NOT included)
  • Schrader valve core tool (required to manage/verify pressure steps properly).
  • RockShox-style air fill adapter (required to pressurize and release IFP pressure before opening the damper). Recommended adapter.
  • Essential non-printable tools used across damper work: Essential Tools.

If you don’t have the fill adapter, you cannot safely manage IFP pressure. If you can’t release pressure, do not open the damper. Guide: How to pressurize a damper (guide).

What’s included
Usage notes + IFP settings
  • External wrench flats = no piggyback clamp needed.
  • Bleed port placement is excellent compared to older DHX models (easier bleed workflow).
  • Always release IFP pressure with your fill adapter before opening anything.
  • Bleed tip: glove method works well, or leave the shock inverted with the bleed port open for a while to let micro-bubbles rise before closing.
IFP Depth Chart (measure piggyback length, not stroke):
  • S: 45.6 mm → IFP depth: 33 mm (1.299")
  • M: 49.6 mm → IFP depth: 37 mm (1.457")
  • L: 53.7 mm → IFP depth: 41 mm (1.614")
  • XL: 57.8 mm → IFP depth: 45 mm (1.772")

IFP pressure: 150 psi

Optional but strongly recommended
⚠️ Important notes & disclaimer
  • Depressurize before disassembly. Both air spring and damper steps as applicable.
  • Never open the damper with IFP pressure still in the system.
  • Use correct tools, correct holding methods, and follow a known-good procedure for your exact shock configuration.
