⚠️ Important Safety Warning
Always depressurize your shock before disassembly. Both air and damper circuits can hold pressure, even in coil shocks. If unsure, do not proceed. Wear safety glasses.
1/2" Shaft Clamp
Designed specifically to clamp on 1/2" (12.7 mm) damper shafts used in various shocks. Not compatible with Float X2 or other shaft diameters than 1/2 inch
What It Does
This clamp grips the shaft securely in your bench vise during damper service, especially when removing or reinstalling the eyelet. The bore is precision-matched for 1/2" (12.7 mm) shafts and includes internal ribs to prevent slipping under torque.
- Fits: 2026+ Fox DHX2, DPX2, Float X, RockShox Super Deluxe, and others
- ❌ Does NOT fit: Float X2 (any year), DHX2 2016–2025
- Material: Reinforced PETG for high strength and shaft safety
- Design: Ribbed interior locks shaft against rotation
Pro Tip: This clamp is a great universal fit for most RockShox and new-gen Fox monotube shocks. If you're only buying one shaft clamp, this is likely the one to get.
Setup Instructions
- Thoroughly clean the shaft with isopropyl alcohol (multiple passes)
- Wrap it with a dry paper towel before clamping
- Apply even vise pressure, do not overtighten
- Heat the eyelet with a heat gun or torch, red Loctite is common
- Read the full clamp usage manual before proceeding
Torque Tip: When removing the eyelet, use our luggage scale torque calculator to estimate your torque input safely.
