1/2″ Damper Shaft Clamp
Precision shaft clamp designed for 1/2″ (12.7 mm) damper shafts only. Intended for eyelet removal, rebound-side service, and general damper work.
What it does
This clamp holds the damper shaft securely in a bench vise during service operations, especially when removing or reinstalling the eyelet.
- Precision-bored for 1/2″ (12.7 mm) shafts
Compatibility
- FOX DHX2 2026+
- FOX Float X
- FOX DPX2
- RockShox Super Deluxe (1/2″ shaft versions)
- Other shocks using true 1/2″ shafts
Not compatible with
- FOX Float X2 (all years)
- FOX DHX2 (2016–2025)
- Any shock using shafts smaller or larger than 1/2″
Setup & usage
- Thoroughly clean the shaft with isopropyl alcohol (multiple passes)
- Wrap the shaft in a dry paper towel before clamping
- Apply even vise pressure, do not overtighten
- Use heat on the eyelet before removal (red Loctite is common)
Torque guidance
When removing eyelets, avoid guessing torque. Use a luggage scale and our calculator to stay within safe limits.

- Oily or dirty shafts will cause slippage and damage the clamp
- If the clamp does not seat easily, stop and verify shaft diameter
