M4 IFP / Bladder Puller Tool
What It Does
This tool is used to safely extract either an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) or a bladder from suspension components that feature an M4-threaded pull port. It's commonly used on Cane Creek DB CS, Kitsuma, and possibly some Öhlins shocks to pull out the bladder.
If you're servicing a Cane Creek shock and you find an M4 thread at the center of the IFP or bladder cap, this is the right tool.
How It Works
Thread the tool into the M4 bleed hole gently. The part you're removing may be slightly stuck due to stick-friction (Stiction), give it a gentle tug. The long shaft makes it easier to wiggle and guide the IFP or bladder out.
- Compatible with most Cane Creek IFPs and bladders that use M4 threads
- Likely works with some Öhlins models (bladder cap), but not yet confirmed
Do You Really Need It?
If you're opening up a Cane Creek shock that uses a bladder (like the DB CS or Kitsuma), you'll probably need this, you can also just get a normal M4 screw and pull with some pliers.
If you're unsure whether your shock needs it, send us a picture or reach out. We'll help you figure it out.
Safety Notes
- Always depressurize the shock before disassembly
- Make sure the bleed screw or bladder plate is fully open before trying to extract the IFP
- Never force it, let any pressure equalize slowly
- Consult the official Cane Creek service manual for your exact shock
