FOX VAN / Marzocchi Bomber CR 2011–2026 Full DIY Rebuild Toolkit
This kit covers all FOX VAN and Marzocchi Bomber CR coil shocks from 2011 to 2026. Procedure is identical for both, and we've compiled everything you need to do a complete rebuild, including how to properly fill the IFP chamber with a needle tool at up to 300 PSI.
If you already have some of the tools, just buy the single tools you need, everything is made simple for you.
What’s Included
-
VAN/Bomber Shaft Clamp Kit : includes 0.5" shaft clamp and piggyback shaft clamp (rarely needed unless opening base valve or the piggy back leaks which is unlikely)
- This Clamp can work to unthread the damper tube as well if ever needed (unlikely)
- IFP Depth Tool (Graduated) : to precisely set IFP depth after bleeding
- Pellet Retainer Tool (Metal) : required for high-pressure Fox piggybacks (plastic version will fail)
Pellet Retainer Tip: You can make one yourself very easily with a Dremel and a 4 mm Allen key, it’s much cheaper than buying one. We do sell plastic and metal versions, but they’re time-consuming to produce by hand. DIY is highly recommended!
- Needle Fill Adapter Tool Manual : includes links on where to buy needle adapters and setup tips
Important Setup Notes
- IFP Pressure: Must be filled to 300 PSI. This shock uses a needle-style fill port (not a Schrader).
- The metal pellet retainer tool is mandatory, Fox shocks require a little higher torque on the pellet 1.6Nm MAX.
- Piggyback IFP depth is 35 mm (1.38") for most models, or 39.4 mm (1.55") for shocks with 3.5" stroke.
- Don’t open the damper body or piggyback unless actively leaking, you may damage decals and there’s almost no benefit.
- Always release IFP pressure with the needle filler tool BEFORE disassembling anything.
- Use isopropyl alcohol to clean all surfaces and wrap shafts with dry paper towel when clamping to increase friction.
Extra Tips
- You don’t need to clamp the main shaft, clamping the eyelet is usually enough unless the sealhead is extremely tight to open the mid valve.

- Soft Vise Jaws for safer clamping
