The clamp uses a single geometry that works for both the body and the reservoir. It is intended for rare, targeted repairs, not routine service.

• Visible oil leaking from the damper body or reservoir.
• The damper tube loosened unintentionally during sealhead removal.
• Repairing known damage to the base valve or reservoir threads.

Most FOX DHX issues come from dynamic components: shaft seals, IFP o-rings, oil condition, or Schrader valves. The damper body and reservoir are static-sealed and rarely fail unless previously over-torqued, opened unnecessarily, or physically damaged.

These parts are factory-sealed with red Loctite. Do NOT open the damper body or reservoir unless they are leaking. If opening is required, heat is mandatory to break the Loctite safely. Opening sealed parts without cause usually creates more problems than it fixes.

• Wrap tubes with dry paper towel to increase friction and protect anodizing.
