FOX DHX Shaft Clamp All Years (1/2" + 5/8")
A dual-size shaft clamp for FOX DHX coil shocks that fits both modern 1/2" shafts and older 5/8" models like the RC2, RC4, and Van RC. Used for clamping the rebound-side shaft directly in a vise.
Ā Fits All FOX DHX Coil Shocks:
DHX (New and also older 3.0/4.0 and 5.0) ⢠DHX2 2026+ ⢠RC2 ⢠RC4 ⢠Van RC, all shaft sizes covered.

Ā What It Does
This clamp holds the damper shaft securely in a bench vise for service. Ideal when working on the rebound circuit, removing the eyelet, or checking valving on the compression side.
- Ā 1/2" bore : modern DHX2 coil models
- Ā 5/8" bore : older (Not all) DHX RC2 / RC4Ā
- Ā Reinforced PETG plastic, strong and safe for the shaft
Ā Optional Add-On
- Damper Body + Reservoir Clamp : Only if the damper body is leaking. Do not open this unless you have to. Itās Loctited and hard to reseal properly.
Ā Do You Need a Bullet Tool?
No. The shaft is large and has a chamfered edge. The U-cup seal installs easily by hand. Just be careful the lips donāt fold over.
Ā When to Use This Clamp
This tool is helpful when:
- Youāre removing the eyelet to service or inspect the rebound side
- The rebound circuit is stuck, too slow, or uncontrollable
- You accidentally unscrewed the eyelet while servicing the main piston
Ā Bleeding Tip:
Donāt overthink it, no syringe or bleed fitting needed. Use the glove method. Works great on DHX because of the vertical valve position.

Ā Setup Tips
- Clean shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol
- Wrap shaft with paper towel before clamping
- Apply gentle heat on the eyelet because Loctite is present on the threads. Try first without heat but a little bit (2-3 seconds) can help a lot.
