Float X2 – Sacrificial Plastic Socket Refills (3-Pack)

Replacement 3-tooth clip-in sockets for our Float X2 Air Can Wrench. These inserts let you replace only the worn teeth instead of the whole wrench cheap, safe, and easy to swap.

Overview

  • Includes 3 plastic sockets per pack, $8 total
  • Easy to replace in seconds, no tools required
  • Fits only our Float X2 Air Can Wrench
  • Not compatible with other tools or wrenches

What It Does

Each insert snaps into the wrench body and engages the 3 locking teeth on any Float X2 air can. They absorb torque, flex slightly, and are designed to fail safely after roughly each service.

Why It’s Sacrificial

There’s a lot of torque on those tiny locking teeth. These inserts are made to take the hit, usually lasting 1–2 services at most.

Looking for a Permanent Option?

We also offer an optional 7075 aluminum insert for repeated use. It won’t break under normal use, but:

  • ⚠️ No chamfers! To keep costs down, it’s not chamfered. We hand-sand it upon arrival, but you can sand more yourself if desired.
  • This saves about $15 per socket in machining but increases the risk of scratching your stanchion.
  • Always wrap the damper tube in a rag or paper towel when using the 7075 insert.
  • Recommended for experienced users only.

Installation Tips

  • Snap the insert into the wrench until you hear a click
  • Align the 3 teeth carefully with the locking ring before applying torque
  • If it slips or cracks, replace with a fresh insert
  • Press firmly toward the damper when rotating the wrench
  • We keep costs low by selling these as-is; sanding more yourself can improve smoothness

Disclaimer

⚠️ Intended for home mechanics only. These inserts are sacrificial and will eventually break, this is by design to not replace the entire wrench.
