Two-Sided Custom Wrench for Pin Sockets
A zero-play wrench designed specifically for all Shockwave Parts pin sockets. Perfect fit, every time.
What It Does
This tool is custom-matched to the outer geometry of every pin socket we manufacture. Whether you’re removing a sealhead, adjuster cap, base valve, or any other low to mid-torque tool with pins, this wrench makes it safe and precise.
One side is 32mm: designed for our larger pin sockets.
The other side is 24mm: perfect for the smaller sockets like Fox rebound adjusters or DPX2 Rebound valve.
Why It’s Better
- Extremely tight tolerance: no vertical, horizontal, or rotational play.
- Prevents the socket from slipping sideways and damaging aluminum parts.
- Centered 16 cm hole on each side for use with a luggage scale, great for torque accuracy without a torque wrench.
- Prevents tool misalignment (a major cause of pin tool failure).
- Printed from reinforced thermoplastic: tough, lightweight, and impact resistant.
How to Use
Just insert the wrench over your Shockwave Parts pin socket, it should click into place with almost no effort. Once seated, press down firmly to ensure full engagement before torquing.
For precise torque, use a luggage scale at the 16 cm distance hole and calculate force with our:
Luggage Scale Torque Calculator
In reality, for most low- to mid-torque jobs (~8-15 Nm), just press firmly and tighten by feel. There are O-rings inside most of these assemblies, so being slightly under-torqued won’t cause leaks, but over-torquing will cause damage. Be gentle.
Works With:
- All Shockwave Parts Pin Sockets
- Fox Float X2 / DHX2 adjusters
- Fox DPX2/Float X base valve and rebound
- Cane Creek DB Inline Air sealhead socket and other cane creek models
- Rockshox Superdeluxe and older vivid (until the new 2024) sealhead.
