FOX DHX2 2026+ DIY Service Kit

DIY toolkit for servicing FOX DHX2 2026+ monotube shocks. Choose between a 200-hour service kit for routine maintenance or a 500-hour full teardown kit if you need to access the base valve, damper tube or rebound adjuster.

The 2026+ DHX2 is a completely different architecture compared to previous generations. It uses a large 1/2" shaft and a monotube design.

200-Hour Service Kit (Recommended)

This is the kit most riders need. It covers routine service: oil contamination, air ingestion, and bleed-related performance loss.

The X2 Seal Head Pin Socket is included and strongly recommended, the sealhead on this shock is torqued very tight, and one slip can cause serious damage. With the socket, no worries.

  • Float X 2022+ Bleed Adapter (T8 bleed port)
  • IFP Puller (2021+ X2 shocks)
  • Graduated IFP Depth Tool
  • DHX2 2026+ Hand Bleed Elbow
  • X2 Seal Head Pin Socket (2026+)

With the hand bleed elbow, you can fully fill the damper tube horizontally and bleed the shock properly by hand, no vacuum pump or syringe required.

500-Hour / Revalve Kit (Advanced)

This version is for full teardown or revalving. Only choose this if you actually need to open the base valve or damper tube.

The stock tune on this shock has very little compression damping in many cases. Revalving may be required depending on your setup.

  • Everything from the 200-hour kit
  • 1/2" Shaft Clamp (monotube shaft)
  • 12-Pin Base Valve Socket
  • DHX2 2026+ Horizontal Shaft Clamp

If you only need to access the base valve, you can skip the shaft clamp and simply add the 12-pin base valve socket to your order.

We do not yet offer a tool for the lockout lever.

Do not mess with the VVC rebound system.

Compatibility
  • FOX DHX2 2026+ only
  • Standard eyelet and trunnion mounts
Tools still required (not included)
  • 20 mm socket for mid-valve
  • Bench vise
  • Shock oil + seal kit
  • Syringe for bleeding (optional if hand bleed is done properly)
  • Air-to-shock fill adapter — ⚠️ Note: the old RockShox red adapter is too short for this shock. You need the longer FOX adapter or an equivalent. Sources: We're working on our own solution — more soon.
  • Torque wrench or luggage scale
  • Schrader valve core tool

You can optionally select our custom 20 mm mid-valve torque socket directly in the product options, or view it here:

  • Designed specifically for this shock’s mid-valve
  • Torque spec marked directly on the tool
  • Compatible with 3/8" torque wrenches
  • Also works with our free 3D-printable pin wrench

This allows accurate torque application even if you don’t have a torque wrench.

Notes & early observations

This shock is not a standard twin-tube DHX2 anymore.

Bleeding quality has a huge impact on performance. Poor bleed = no damping.

If you need to remove the eyelet, follow this procedure carefully:

⚠️ Safety & usage warnings
  • Fully depressurize before opening
  • Do not try to open the damper with an adjustable wrench
  • Open the bleed port slowly
  • Monotube systems can eject oil under pressure
  • Do not proceed unless pressure is fully released
