The most versatile shaft clamp combo for air and damper shafts, fits almost every modern fork, including Fox, RockShox, Marzocchi, Manitou, and more.
I added a picture for me screwing back the rebound assembly into a 10mm damper from a fit RC2 damper :)
β οΈ Warning: Never clamp directly on a damper or air shaft. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, wrap with paper, and use the correct clamp size.

Β What It Does
- 8mm clamp fits most damper shafts and compression needles. Some newer dampers for XC or light trail bikes have 8mm air shafts as well like the fit4 2019+. Cane Creek Helm mkI-II forks have 8mm air shafts.
- 10mm clamp fits nearly all fork damper shafts and air spring shafts
- Great for oil changes, air shaft bushing inspection, or basic damper teardown
- Works on Fox GRIP, RockShox Charger, Manitou Dorado, Marzocchi Bomber, and more
Β Compatibility Notes
- Fits most forks with 8mm and 10mm small shaft diameters
- Damper body clamp still required for full teardown (e.g., GRIP or Charger body)
- RockShox dampers typically open with a standard cassette tool
- Fox damper top caps require a 6-in-1 top cap wrench
Oil Suggestions:
Most forks use 20wt oil in the lowers, and 4wt or 5wt oil in the damper. Check your brand-specific service manual.
Always use Slickoleum or SRAM Butter for reassembly, never Vaseline.
