Universal 8mm + 10mm Fork Shaft Clamp Combo
The most versatile shaft clamp combo for air and damper shafts, fits almost every modern fork including Fox, RockShox, Marzocchi, Manitou, Cane Creek, and more.
I added a picture of me threading a 10mm rebound assembly into a FIT RC2 damper.
⚠️ Safety Warning (Read Before Use)
Always:
- Clean shaft with isopropyl alcohol
- Wrap once in paper towel
- Use the correct clamp size (8mm or 10mm)

What It Does
- 8mm clamp fits most damper shafts and compression needles
- 10mm clamp fits most air spring shafts and many damper shafts
- Perfect for oil changes, bushing inspection, damper shaft teardown
- Works on FIT, GRIP, Charger, Dorado, Bomber, Mezzer, etc.
Compatibility Notes
- Fits nearly all forks using 8mm or 10mm small shafts
- A damper body clamp is still required for full teardown (GRIP, Charger)
- RockShox damper top caps typically open using a cassette tool
- Fox damper top caps require a 6-in-1 top cap wrench
Oil & Grease Suggestions
Most forks use:
- 20wt oil in the lowers
- 4wt or 5wt oil in the damper
Always use Slickoleum / SRAM Butter, never Vaseline.
