 Deluxe Fox/Marzocchi Fork Shaft Driver - Damper + Air Side

A more premium tool for safe, damage-free removal of both damper and air shafts during lower leg service on most Fox & Marzocchi forks.

 What It Does

This is the upgraded version of our Basic Damper Shaft Driver, now with both ends covered. The Deluxe Driver threads into your rebound shaft (right leg) and also fits the air shaft (left leg) snugly, so you can safely knock out both sides without damaging fragile internals.

  • One end fits over Fox/Marzocchi air shafts
  • Other end uses a replaceable threaded tip for damper shafts with rebound adjusters
  • Same tips as our Basic Driver, fully compatible
  • Prevents contact with VVC rods or meter rods that could be damaged by direct hammer strikes
  • Built for rubber mallet or wood block impact, no metal-on-metal
Premium Feel: The body is larger, more stable, and more satisfying to use than our Basic version with the deal sided driver that can fit into the base, with the replaceable tip on it.

 Compatibility

  • Works on all Fox & Marzocchi 34, 36, 38, and 40mm forks with round lower legs
  • ❌ Not compatible with Fox Taper-Cast forks (e.g. Step-Cast XC forks)
  • Fully replaces 398-00-681 (Air Shaft Driver) and 398-00-682 (Damper Shaft Driver)

How To Use our tool: 

  1. Release all the air in the fork
  2. Remove the rebound adjusters (2mm allen) 
  3. Unscrew both the damper side nut and the air shaft side nuts with a long socket (10mm/15mm) and a ratchet.
  4. Remove the small plastic crush washer on each side if you can
  5. Thread the driver tip fully onto the rebound shaft until it bottoms on the inside shoulder of the tool (Don't screw too hard, the threads are plastic)
    1. If you don't thread it fully, the impact will not go on the inside flat and break the threads, which is not a big deal  and will still work but it's nice when the tool holds itself up.
  6. Hold the fork upright and gently strike the tool with a rubber mallet
  7. Do not hit on the center smaller shaft directly without the tool!!
  8. Do the same procedure on the air side, don't thread to tool too deep, 5-6 turns is more than enough
  9. Once the shafts breaks free, remove the lowers and proceed with cleaning
⚠️ Do Not Strike the Shaft Directly:
If your rebound shaft uses a mid-valve or VVC rod, hitting the center can break the internals. This tool lets you apply force around the rod, exactly as Fox intended.

Same applies to the air shaft side, this tool distributes the load properly without damaging seals or the piston.
For DIY Use Only:
