1. Release all fork air pressure
2. Remove rebound adjuster (2mm)
3. Loosen damper + air-shaft nuts
4. Remove crush washers if possible
5. Thread the tip fully until it bottoms (do not overtighten)
6. Hold fork upright & tap with rubber mallet
7. Never hit the center rod directly
8. Repeat on air side using a wooden block (no threads there)

This can break the meter rod, leaf springs, or VVC internals. The driver prevents this.
