RockShox M5 IFP Puller Tool
Do not overtighten into the IFP, the threads are plastic in some IFPs and will strip easily. Screw in gently until fully seated.
Β What It Does
This tool is used to safely and easily extract the IFP (Internal Floating Piston) from newer RockShox shocks that use an M5-threaded bleed port. On these models, the piggyback is no longer threaded into the damper body, it's secured with small bolts. These modular units are often upgradeable to Ultimate-level valving.
- If your shockβs IFP is held by 2 screws (not threaded directly), this tool is likely required
Β How It Works
Thread the tool gently into the M5 bleed port and pull straight back. It interfaces with the plastic insert in the IFP (usually a Torx T10 shape) and pops the IFP free without damage.
Β Do You Really Need It?
Not always, you can use a regular M5 screw and pull with pliers, but it's fiddly and prone to slipping. This tool gives better grip and a more confident pull, especially when reinstalling or working on multiple shocks.
We keep the price low, it's 3D printed but strong and made for repeat use.Β
Β Safety Notes
- Always depressurize both the air spring and damper before opening the shock
- Do not attempt to pull the IFP if pressure is still present
- Review the official RockShox service manual for your specific model
