Float X 2022+ Bleed Adapter — Standard & Lite

The Float X 2022+ Bleed Adapter is a syringe-bleed fitting for the modern large-format Fox bleed port. Equivalent to Fox 803-01-691. It comes in two choices: Standard, with a built-in compression-style hose fitting, and Lite, a small adapter that screws onto the tip of a standard Shimano M5x0.8 brake bleed fitting so you can use the bleed kit you already own.

How to identify your shock:
T8 Torx bleed screw = Float X 2022+ adapter
Allen (hex) bleed screw = X2-style adapter

Both versions are designed for pressure / push–pull syringe bleeding. Not intended for vacuum machines. Built for DIY servicing.

⚠️ Please Read Before Use

This is a 3D-printed tool designed for DIY suspension servicing. It works well when used correctly, but it should be handled with care.

Do not overtighten. The O-ring creates the seal, not the threads. Once the O-ring is seated lightly, the adapter is sealed and does not need additional torque.

Avoid pushing sideways on the fitting, twisting the hose excessively, or bumping the adapter while it is installed.

In the unlikely event that the adapter breaks inside the port, it can usually be removed in minutes by gently inserting a knife tip into the plastic and unscrewing it.

Standard vs. Lite — Which One Do I Need?

Both versions thread into the same Fox bleed port. The difference is what happens on the outlet side.

The Standard is a complete fitting with a built-in compression connection. You push your hose in, tighten it with the provided wrench, and you're done.

The Lite is a small adapter that screws onto the tip of a standard Shimano M5x0.8 brake bleed fitting. It seals perfectly and lets you use the bleed fitting and hose you already have. It takes up almost no space in your kit and works with both plastic and metal Shimano fittings.

The Lite only works if you have a Shimano-style bleed fitting in your kit — but that's the most common one out there, and nearly every brake bleed kit includes it.

Why You Can't Just Use a Brake Fitting

The Fox bleed port is not a standard M5x0.8 brake thread. It is a special imperial-sized thread, much closer to M5.3x0.7. A Shimano fitting will not thread into it correctly, and forcing one risks damaging the port.

That's exactly what both versions solve: they give you the correct thread on the shock side, and a normal, familiar connection on the hose side.

How It Works

Thread the adapter into the shock bleed port. This is identical on both versions.

Standard: the outlet accepts standard 4mm ID hose. Use the provided wrench to tighten the compression fitting onto the hose.

Lite: screw your Shimano M5x0.8 bleed fitting (plastic or metal) onto the tip of the adapter, then connect your hose to it as you normally would.

Either way, use the syringe from your brake bleed kit to push and pull oil through the damper in a clean, controlled way. Both versions are designed strictly for syringe pressure bleeding.

Confirmed Compatibility

Fox only. Compatibility is identical for the Standard and Lite versions. Threads directly into the large-format Fox bleed port used on:

  • Float X 2022+ (Factory, Performance, Elite) air shocks
  • DHX 2022+ coil shocks
  • Float X2 2026+
  • DHX2 2026+
  • 2024 Trunnion Float X2 (the only model from the older generations that requires this fitting)

Important:
This adapter uses the special Fox imperial thread. It does not fit older Fox X2-style bleed ports, and it is not intended for other brands.

What’s Included

Standard

  • Float X 2022+ Bleed Adapter with compression fitting
  • O-ring for proper sealing
  • 3D-printed wrench for the compression fitting
  • Short 4mm ID hose (pre-cut, ready to use)

Lite

  • Float X 2022+ Bleed Adapter, Lite (Shimano M5x0.8 outlet)
  • O-ring for proper sealing

Syringe is not included with either version. The Lite requires your own Shimano-style bleed fitting and hose.

Why This Tool Exists
  • Designed for syringe bleeding: no vacuum machine required.
  • Correct thread standard: Fox uses a special imperial thread, closer to M5.3x0.7 than to a standard M5x0.8. Generic brake fittings do not fit.
  • Two versions: a complete compression fitting, or a compact adapter for the Shimano fitting you already own.
  • DIY-focused: perfect for controlled push–pull bleeding at home.
  • Not for vacuum systems: will not maintain a perfect negative pressure seal.
Warnings & Limitations
  • Do not overtighten: the O-ring makes the seal, not torque.
  • Be extremely careful not to break the adapter inside the shock. If it starts to feel tight, stop immediately.
  • You do not need to thread it in deeply, once the O-ring seats, it is sealed.
  • Lite version: requires a Shimano M5x0.8 bleed fitting from your own kit. Plastic or metal both work.
  • Not designed for commercial vacuum bleed machines.
  • This tool assumes basic damper service knowledge.
