Float X2 2021–2025 Seal Head Pin Socket
This tool is specifically designed to remove and reinstall the seal head on 2021–2025 Fox Float X2 shocks. It’s a closed-style socket, so you’ll need to remove the eyelet to use it, but once you do, it locks on tight with zero play and makes the job a lot cleaner.
What It Does
Lets you remove and reinstall the seal head safely without damaging the shaft or body. The pins are stainless steel, press-fit into a rigid polymer body that fits the 2021-2025 Float X2 perfectly. It gives you a more solid connection than using a strap wrench and makes reinstallation safer.
What It Works With
- Fox Float X2 (2021–2025 ONLY)
What It Doesn’t Work With
- Fox DHX2 – doesn’t need this tool
- Float X2 2016–2018 – uses a different socket size
- Float X2 2019–2020 – also uses a different tool
- Float X2 2026+ – not compatible (we haven’t confirmed the design)
Pro Tips
- You can technically use a strap wrench (like for oil filters), but be very careful, it’s easy to slip or deform the body if you're not careful when re-torquing.
- This tool is much safer and makes the job easier, especially during reassembly.
- Stainless pins are strong, and the fit is tight, just press hard and turn slowly.
Best Combo
Pair this with our two-sided custom wrench for best results. It fits all our pin sockets with no play and gives you better leverage. We also offer them bundled at a discount.

Make sure the damper is fully depressurized before opening.
If you skip this step, the damper can explode under pressure and launch parts at you seriously dangerous.
Always bleed the air and IFP pressure before touching the seal head.
