DVO Jade / Jade X / Jade X Prime DIY Rebuild Basics (14mm Shaft Clamp)
This is the only dedicated tool you’ll need to rebuild your DVO Jade coil shock at home! Works for all Jade, Jade X, and Jade X Prime models with a 14mm shaft.
What’s Included
- 14mm Shaft Clamp : Allows safe removal of the mid valve without clamping on the eyelet to change the seals in the sealhead.
That’s it! All other tools are standard bike workshop tools (Allen keys, bench vise, drip trays, adjustable wrench, shock pump, etc..).
Official Service Manuals
- DVO Jade Full Service Manual (Inline Reservoir)
- DVO Jade X Full Service Manual (Perpendicular Reservoir)
Both versions (also the prime) use the same 14mm shaft, and the rebuild procedure is nearly identical.
Bleeding Notes
- Jade (inline reservoir): Can be bled fully by hand using a glove bleed method — no syringe or fitting needed.
- Jade X / Prime: Use the long Reverb-style barb from most brake bleed kits. It fits well enough into the bleed port and can be held in place while bleeding.
- Trunnion-mount shocks: Consider adding the Trunnion Shock Vise Holder to protect the shock body when torquing the eyelet.
- Any basic bleed kit will do, for me, the long fitting for reverb dropper bleed worked great. You have to get the plastic version, I heard the metal don't work as well. Here is the even better version that you can get. Reverb Bleed kits
