Do I want the very sick ZERO play custom wrench that works with all our pin sockets?

FOX DPX2 Rebound Adjuster Pin Socket

This tool is designed to open the rebound adjuster on FOX DPX2 rear shocks. It's a precision-fit pin socket made for home mechanics tackling a leaking rebound valve, not general maintenance. If your shock is working fine, do not open this adjuster.

⚠️ Safety Warning:
This shock is highly pressurized. Always depressurize both the air can and the damper before doing anything.
  • Use the needle IFP filling technique to release and refill the damper
  • You must release both the air spring pressure and the damper pressure
  • Never open a damper unless it is fully depressurized
  • This tool is for experienced home mechanics only

What It Does

This pin socket fits the rebound-side base valve adjuster on all FOX DPX2 models. It allows you to unscrew and remove the rebound assembly if it’s leaking or needs service.

⚠️ Important: Do not use this tool on the compression side, that requires a different socket, which is still in development due to complex pin geometry.

Options

You can also get our custom 2-sided ZERO play wrench made specifically for our pin sockets. This wrench has zero axial or radial play, so you can focus on threading straight. It also includes pre-measured holes for use with our luggage scale calculator.

Torque Tip: Always use a scale or low-range torque tool when opening this valve. Over-torquing can shear the pins or crack the cap. The rebound base valve is delicate, take your time, and stop if it resists toput some heat or WD-40.

Do You Really Need This?

Only if your rebound is leaking. If it’s stuck, try soaking it in light oil (like WD-40), apply gentle heat, and rotate the adjuster gently, don’t force it. The rebound valve is not a routine service item and should be left alone unless leaking externally.

Smart move: If you've read this far, you're already more informed than 90% of people who attempt to open this shock. That means you’re more likely to succeed without breaking anything. Nice job!

Disclaimers

This tool is made for home mechanics with suspension experience. If you're unfamiliar with dampers, pressurization, or pin sockets, do not attempt this service. All use is at your own risk. By purchasing, you agree to our terms of service.
