Cane Creek DB Inline Air Can & Bladder Wrench

Two-sided wrench designed specifically for the original Cane Creek DB Inline Air Gen1 shocks (2014–2022). These shocks use a pressurized bladder instead of an IFP and have no piggyback reservoir.

Important compatibility info
  • Compatible only with Cane Creek DB Inline Air (2014–2022)
  • Not compatible with piggyback shocks (DB Coil, DB Air CS, Kitsuma, DB Inline New Gen 2023+, etc.)
  • Compatibility with DB Inline 2023+ is unconfirmed and still under evaluation
What this tool does

This wrench features two precision-machined sides:

  • Air can side: unthreads the air can from the eyelet, like a standard air shock
  • Bladder cap side: opens the pressurized bladder assembly

Fitment is ultra-tight (±0.01 mm) to prevent slipping and protect threads and aluminum surfaces during service.

Usage & torque tips
  • Insert the wrench perfectly straight until fully seated, misalignment can crack the tool
  • Use a luggage scale + torque calculator for controlled torque
  • Bladder torque: ~40–50 lb pull on the scale
  • Air can torque: ~20–30 lb pull is sufficient
  • Torque reference markings are engraved directly on the tool
Required for safe use

To open the bladder safely, you must use the DB Inline Air Damper Body Clamp . This clamp holds the shock body in a vise without crushing or deforming it.

The body shape changed in 2023, compatibility with newer versions is still being evaluated. You can add the clamp as a bundle option at checkout.

Color note

Product photos may show a gray wrench. Final production units are printed in black. Gray versions were early prototypes used for material strength testing.
