Cane Creek DB Inline Air Can & Bladder Wrench
This two-sided wrench is designed specifically for the original Cane Creek DB Inline Air shocks, Gen1 models produced from 2014 to 2022 ONLY, without piggyback reservoirs and using a pressurized bladder instead of an IFP.
Important Compatibility Info:
- Works only for Cane Creek DB Inline Air 2014-2022
- Will not work on Double Barrel piggyback models (DB Coil, DB Air CS, Kitsuma, DB Inline New Gen 2023+ etc.)
- Not Certain If the Bladder Wrench works on the new DB Inline 2023+, to be continued.. :)
What It Does:
This wrench has two sides: one for the air can (sadly, I forgot to take a picture when I was using it but yeah, it's just the untread the air can from the eyelet like any other air shock) and one for the bladder cap. The fitment is ultra-tight (tolerance of ±0.01 mm) to ensure no slipping and maximum engagement. It allows you to cleanly open both threaded components during service without damaging the housing or threads.
Usage Tips:
- Press the wrench in perfectly straight until it fully seats, if misaligned, it may break.
- Use a luggage scale + our torque calculator for safe torquing.
- Typical bladder torque: 40–50 lbs pull on scale. Air can torque: 20–30 lbs is plenty.
- Numbers are engraved on the tool to help you dial the right torque using scale-based method.
To Use the Bladder Wrench Properly:
You must use the Damper Body Shaft Clamp to hold the shock in a vise without damaging the damper body. This tool is required for safe use of the bladder wrench. Again, I know the body shape changed in 2023 so we have to confirm if our clamp works for the newer ones.
You can add this clamp to your order at checkout by selecting the appropriate kit upgrade option.
Color Note:
The wrench shown in the product pictures may appear gray, but production units will be printed in black. Gray prototypes were used during material strength testing to find the most durable blend for long-term use.
