8 mm Shaft Clamp
Designed for 8 mm shafts used in forks, dampers, and some rear suspensions, by exemple the Cane Creek Inline Air. Cane Creek Helm forks and Invert forks have a 8mm air shaft as well.

Technical Details & Compatibility
Bench-vise clamp for holding 8 mm shafts during suspension service.
- Fits: Some Cane Creek DB Coil shocks (older 8 mm versions)
- Fits: FOX FIT4 dampers (2020+) and Cane Creek Helm Air shafts. Also Cane Creek Invert Fork internals are 8mm!
- Common use: Fork internals and small damper assemblies
- Not compatible: Air shocks with eyelets installed, use a horizontal shaft clamp
Setup & Usage
- Degrease the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol
- Wrap the shaft with a dry paper towel to improve grip
- Clamp with even bench-vise pressure do not overtighten
- Heat thread-locked parts before applying torque (FOX often uses red Loctite)
Fit Notes
Some Cane Creek DB Coil models switched to 9.5 mm shafts.
If the clamp does not seat cleanly, stop and confirm the shaft diameter before applying torque.
Warnings
- Always depressurize air and damper circuits before disassembly
- Never clamp oily or contaminated shafts
- Using the wrong clamp size will damage the shaft and the clamp
