Open BB 12-Notch 46 OD BSA30 Wrench (For Suspension Use)

This tool looks like a classic BSA30 bottom-bracket wrench, but it is specifically designed for suspension service, most notably the Cane Creek Invert fork and any component using a 46 mm, 12-notch interface. It is not meant for bicycle bottom brackets.

Important Compatibility Info
  • Designed for components with a 46 mm OD, 12-notch interface.
  • Primary use: Cane Creek Invert fork sealheads.
  • Not compatible with any drivetrain bottom brackets (BSA30, DUB, etc.).
  • Perfect for low-torque closure systems (~15 Nm).
  • Reinforced polymer construction is ideal for delicate suspension parts.
What This Tool Does

The tool securely engages the 12-notch interface found on certain suspension sealheads and closures. The deep profile and tight tolerances reduce slip and protect fragile aluminum edges.

For the Cane Creek Invert fork, this wrench is used to unthread the sealhead during routine service or full rebuilds. With a torque requirement of only 15 Nm, a polymer wrench is more than strong enough and prevents cosmetic damage.

Usage Tips
  • Seat the wrench fully into all 12 notches before applying torque.
  • Keep the wrench perfectly aligned with the sealhead to avoid tooth flex.
  • Apply slight downward hand pressure as you unthread the part.
  • Use a torque wrench or a luggage scale + our torque calculator for reassembly.
  • Do not exceed 15 Nm on Cane Creek Invert components.

  • Profile: 12-notch open-style BSA30 pattern
  • Outer Diameter: 46 mm
  • Material: Reinforced polymer (3D-printed)
