DHX2 Split Pin Socket 2026+
Split-style pin socket designed to remove and reinstall the seal head on FOX DHX2 2026+.
What this tool does
This tool is made to engage the seal head pin pattern on FOX DHX2 2026+ shocks. It may also fit the Float X2 2026+, but compatibility and torque handling on that shock have not yet been tested, use on the Float X2 is at your own risk.
The socket includes a separate spacer that must always be inserted during use. The spacer supports the split body and helps prevent the tool from collapsing when torque is applied with a wrench.
Compatible with
- FOX DHX2 2026+ — tested ✅
- FOX Float X2 2026+ — not yet tested, use at your own risk ⚠️
Best combo
This tool is best used with a pair of 32mm adjustable wrenches or smooth-jaw Knipex pliers.
Always keep the tool parallel to the opening and do not overtighten your wrench on the outside of the socket.
How to use
- Always insert the included spacer before applying torque
- Keep the tool aligned straight and parallel to the seal head opening
- Use a 32mm adjustable wrench or smooth-jaw Knipex
- Do not crush the outside of the socket by tightening too hard on it
Torque tips
This application reaches roughly 27 Nm on the DHX2, which is already very high torque for a plastic tool. The Float X2 spec (~35 Nm) has not yet been tested on this tool — attempting it is at your own risk.
The pins are made very deep with tight tolerances and alignment for maximum engagement. Fit is intentionally extremely tight to reduce play and improve stability.
Use our luggage scale torque calculator to apply torque more safely and with better control.
⚠️ Disclaimer
Amateur tool only. This tool has been tested on the DHX2 2026+. Compatibility and torque handling on the Float X2 2026+ are still untested — if you choose to use it on a Float X2, you do so entirely at your own risk. The spacer is mandatory.
