Fox X2 Bleed Adapter

The Fox X2 Bleed fitting is a syringe-bleed adapter. It is a direct, functional equivalent to the official Fox 803-00-463 Adapter, but built for real-world DIY syringe bleeding instead of vacuum machines. The threads are metal and it uses a compression fitting for the hose.

⚠️ Syringe Bleeding Only — Not for Vacuum Bleeding

This adapter was designed specifically for home mechanics performing syringe bleeds and suspension service at home.

It is intended for pressure and push-pull bleeding methods and is not designed for vacuum bleeding systems.

Strong vacuum can draw air past the seal. For best results, use a syringe to push and control oil flow through the damper.

How It Works

Thread the adapter into the damper bleed port.

The outlet accepts any standard 4mm ID hose. Use the hose and syringe from your existing brake bleed kit to push or pull oil through the damper in a clean, controlled way.

Use the provided wrench to tighten the compression fitting onto the hose.

This tool is designed for syringe bleeding.

Confirmed Compatibility

Threads directly into the IFP bleed port or oil plug on the following shocks:

  • Fox
    • DHX (3.0, 4.0, 5.0) coil shocks
    • DHX RC2
    • DHX RC4
    • DHX2 2016–2020
    • DHX2 2021–2025 (not trunnion 2024)
    • Float X2 2016–2020
    • Float X2 2021–2025 (not trunnion 2024)
    • IFP port on 2026 X2 shocks
  • Marzocchi
    • Bomber CR coil shocks
  • Push
    • ElevenSix (Fox-style bleed port)

Important:
2024–2025 Float X2 & DHX2 Trunnion shocks use the Float X bleed fitting.
This adapter does not fit those Trunnion models.

All other years and configurations use the original X2-style bleed port and are fully compatible, whether Trunnion or standard eyelet.

2026+ Float X2 & DHX2 – Important Note

The new 2026+ Float X2 and DHX2 shocks use the Float X (T8 Torx) bleed fitting, which is larger than the bleed port supported by the X2 Bleed Adapter.

Quick identification:
T8 Torx bleed screw = Float X style fitting
Allen (hex) bleed screw = X2 style fitting

This is a separate design change from the 2024–2025 Trunnion-only update.

Rebuilding these shocks is still possible by bleeding through the center IFP port. This method is more delicate and requires extra care, but it is doable with the right procedure.

What’s Included
  • X2 Bleed Adapter (Metal Threads)
  • O-ring for proper sealing
  • 3D-printed wrench for compression fitting
  • Short 4mm ID hose (pre-cut, ready to use)

Syringe is not included. The adapter also works with longer hoses from standard brake bleed kits.

Why This Tool Exists
  • Designed for syringe bleeding: no vacuum machine.
  • Fixes the X2 bleed problem: piggyback and adjuster layout make glove or gravity methods unreliable and difficult.
  • Correct threads: Fox uses imperial threads; generic brake bleed fittings do not fit.
  • Standard hoses: works with common 4mm ID plastic hoses.
  • Works extremely well with our X2 IFP Puller:
You can push on the IFP and the syringe at the same time without worrying about scratching the inside of the IFP bore. This makes the bleed faster, cleaner, and much more controlled.

Warnings & Limitations
  • Do not overtighten: the O-ring makes the seal, not torque.
  • Do NOT use for vacuum bleeding. This adapter is designed for pressure / push–pull use only.
  • Do not pull hard vacuum with a syringe, excessive negative pressure can draw air past the seal.
  • Designed for stroking the shock while controlling oil flow. It works extremely well for that method.
  • Identification reminder: Allen (hex) bleed screw = X2 adapter. T8 Torx bleed screw = Float X 2022+ adapter.
  • This tool assumes basic damper service knowledge.
