Float X2 2021–2025 Small Shaft Clamp (3/8)

Reinforced clamp designed to hold the narrow 3/8" damper shaft on FOX Float X2 2021–2025 shocks. This tool must be used exactly as instructed to avoid breakage or shaft damage.

⚠️ Important warning (read before buying)

This tool is very easy to misuse. You must read the clamp manual or you will almost certainly break it. The 3/8" shaft is extremely narrow, technique matters more than strength.

Each purchase includes two clamps (a pair). If you break one by skipping the guide, you still have a backup. If you follow instructions, both will likely last indefinitely.

Read the usage manual before buying »

What this tool does

This clamp allows you to hold the damper shaft securely in a bench vise for service operations such as sealhead removal and eyelet removal. Because the shaft diameter is very small, the clamp is reinforced but still fragile if misused.

  • Fits the 3/8" shaft used on Float X2 (2021–2025)
  • Not compatible with Float X2 (2016–2020) or 2026+
Compatibility
  • FOX Float X2 2021–2025
  • 3/8" damper shaft only
Setup & usage
  • Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol (more than once)
  • Wrap the shaft with dry paper towel to increase friction
  • Clamp with even pressure, never overtighten
  • Apply controlled heat to the eyelet (HEATGUN / TORCH) - FOX uses red Loctite

Additional warnings
  • Always clamp a clean, degreased shaft, oil will cause slipping
  • If it doesn’t fit easily, verify that the inner air can is fully threaded into the negative sealhead
  • Using the wrong clamp height can prevent proper contact and damage the shaft
