⚠️ Important Safety Warning
Always depressurize air and damper circuits before disassembly. If your shock or fork is still pressurized, removing the eyelet, sealhead or opening the damper in general can cause injury or damage.
5/8″ Shaft Clamp
Designed for 5/8″ (15.875 mm) damper shafts, extremely rare and only found on a few legacy coil shocks. Most modern suspension does not use this diameter.
⚠️ Product photo shows the DHX2 3/8″ clamp, this is only a placeholder. Actual 5/8″ version is larger and different in proportion.
What It Does
This clamp is made to securely grip oversized 5/8″ damper shafts during service. It’s useful for removing eyelets, main pistons, or rebound assemblies on old coil shock designs.
- Fits: Original FOX DHX RC4 (circa 2012)
- ❌ Note: Not compatible with modern FOX DHX2, RockShox, or Cane Creek models
Tip: If you're working on a very old shock and unsure of shaft size, confirm with calipers before clamping. This clamp only fits true 5/8″ shafts.
Setup Instructions
- Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, multiple passes recommended
- Wrap the shaft in a dry paper towel to increase grip and reduce risk of scratching
- Clamp with even pressure in a bench vise, do not overtighten
- Apply heat if Loctite was used, especially on eyelets or piston threads

Match Your Torque: Use our luggage scale torque calculator to avoid overtightening old hardware.
⚠️ Reminder: Improper cleaning, oily shafts, or using the wrong clamp size will lead to slippage and clamp damage. Confirm sizing before applying torque.
