⚠️ Important Safety Warning
Always depressurize air and damper circuits before disassembly. If your shock or fork is still pressurized, removing the eyelet, sealhead or opening the damper in general can cause injury or damage.
12 mm Shaft Clamp
Designed for 12 mm damper shafts, a size found on some older or less common coil shocks. Not suitable for most fork dampers or modern air shocks.
⚠️ Product photo shows the DHX2 3/8″ clamp as an example. Actual 12 mm version may differ in appearance.
What It Does
This clamp allows you to safely hold 12 mm damper shafts in a bench vise for service. It’s useful for removing the eyelet, main piston, rebound assembly, or any shaft-mounted component, when used with proper setup technique.
- Fits: Older EXT V3 shocks
- Fits: Older EXT E-Storia (newer versions use 14 mm)
- Fits: FAST Fenix Coil (some models)
- Note: Some e-tuned variants may use 14 mm, verify with calipers
- Be carefull, some shocks have 12.7mm shafts and it might look like it fits but you will damage the clamp.
Tip: If the clamp doesn’t seat properly or the shaft spins under pressure, double-check the diameter, some newer shocks in this category have switched to 14 mm shafts.
Setup Instructions
- Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, repeat until fully degreased
- Wrap the shaft with a dry paper towel to maximize grip
- Clamp with even vise pressure, do not overtighten
- Heat Loctited parts, EXT often uses strong threadlocker on shaft interfaces

Match Your Torque: Use our luggage scale torque calculator to estimate proper torque on eyelets and pistons.
⚠️ Reminder: Improper cleaning, oily shafts, or using the wrong clamp size will lead to slippage and clamp damage. If it doesn’t fit easily, double-check your shaft diameter and ensure the clamp is fully seated.
