⚠️ Important Safety Warning
Always depressurize air and damper circuits before disassembly. If your shock or fork is still pressurized, removing the eyelet, sealhead or opening the damper in general can cause injury or damage.
10 mm Shaft Clamp
Designed for 10 mm shafts, commonly found in pre-2020 fork dampers and many coil shocks. Compatible with most brands, including older FOX and RockShox internals. Almost allfork air shafts are 10mm.
⚠️ Product photo shows a DHX2 3/8″ clamp as an example, not the 10 mm version. The second photo shows the clamp in use on an actual 10 mm shaft in the Fox Fit RC2 Damper.
What It Does
This clamp grips 10 mm shafts securely in your bench vise during service, especially during piston removal, eyelet work, rebound assembly swaps, or fork air piston jobs. Precision bore and internal ribs prevent shaft slippage.
- Fits: Most FOX and RockShox fork dampers before 2020
- Fits: Pretty much all damper shafts in forks to be honest, some never FIT4 forks changed to 8mm in 2019. Air shafts are mostly 10mm!! Some rare exceptions like the Weird TALAS Forks and teralogic.
- ❌ Does NOT fit: Öhlins TTX22 (9.87 mm shaft), we offer a custom version for that
Tip: Although labeled as 10 mm, some shocks use smaller shafts by 0.1 or 0.2mm in reality depending on tolerance. If it feels too tight or loose, measure with calipers and contact us for custom-fit options.
Setup Instructions
- Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, multiple passes
- Wrap it in a dry paper towel to increase grip and avoid scratches
- Clamp using even vise pressure, never overtighten
- Heat Loctited joints before removal, common on FOX eyelets and damper threads

Match Your Torque: Use our luggage scale torque calculator to safely estimate turning force on stuck parts.
⚠️ Reminder: Improper cleaning, oily shafts, or using the wrong clamp size will lead to slippage and clamp damage. If it doesn’t fit easily, double-check your shaft diameter and ensure the clamp is fully seated.
