StanchionStation — 35 / 38 / 40 mm, Angled
Three stanchion sizes in one tool. The clamp station covers 35 mm, 38 mm and 40 mm tubes, so a single clamp handles almost every dual-crown and inverted fork on your bench instead of three separate ones taking up drawer space.
Stanchion tubes are long. The angle sends the tube off to the side so it clears the center of the vise instead of running into the base or the bench. On a multi-size station this matters even more than on a single-size clamp: it works on any vise, big or small, so we skipped the straight version entirely rather than make you guess which one fits your setup.
What It Covers
- 35 mm — RockShox BoXXer 2011–2023, Intend inverted forks, older Marzocchi 888, and other 35 mm stanchion forks
- 38 mm — RockShox BoXXer 2024 and newer, Öhlins DH38, Fox 38
- 40 mm — Fox 40 (all generations), Marzocchi Bomber 58
36 mm is not included. It comes up rarely enough that adding a fourth bore would have made the station noticeably bigger and harder to fit in a vise. If you service the Fox Podium or PUSH 9.1, grab our dedicated 36 mm clamp instead.
Fitment goes by stanchion diameter, not fork model. Not sure of your size? Use our Dust Wiper Seal Finder Tool , it uses the exact same diameter reference.
Why You Need This
- Double crown forks don't connect the stanchions through the crown — once removed, they spin freely
- Damper and compression assemblies are often torqued tight and cannot be opened by hand
- Full 360° contact spreads the load instead of pinching a single point
- One tool instead of three if you work on a mix of forks
How to Use It Properly
- Pick the bore that matches your stanchion exactly. Never use an oversized bore and hope the wrap takes up the slack.
- Clean the stanchion thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
- Wrap a clean layer of printer paper or paper towel around the tube.
- Spray 1–2 times inside the bore with isopropyl, it increases grip dramatically.
- Seat the tube fully in the bore. Never clamp with partial contact — you need full 360° contact.
- Set the station in the jaws with the angle running clear of the vise center before you close it, so you are not repositioning under load.
- Clamp gently but firmly. If it slips, stop and redo your prep rather than adding force.
Critical Warning
Even one grain of dirt can permanently scratch your stanchion.
Always clean everything thoroughly and inspect the bore and the clamping zone before locking it down. Check the bore itself too — on a multi-size tool it is easy to grab the station off the bench without noticing debris sitting in one of the other bores.
