SPA-2 Pin Spanner Luggage Scale Adapter
This lightweight adapter turns your Park Tool SPA-2 pin spanner into a precise torque wrench using a basic luggage scale and some simple maths. It's ideal for precise, delicate tasks like Cane Creek DB Coil, adjusters/base valves, hubs or anytime you need a pin socket with a very precise low torque.
The luggage scale and the SPA-2 Pin Wrench are not included, only the small 3D printed tool.
⚠️ Recommended Max Torque
⚠️ Recommended max: 20 Nm
While the system can safely handle up to 60 lb of pull (~39 Nm), we strongly recommend staying under 20 Nm to avoid damaging small components or slipping off the pins. Two pins is too low for high torques, you will destroy the part you work on.

How to Use
- Snap the adapter fully onto the tip of your SPA-2 (red) pin spanner.
- Push it fully to the curvy end.
- Hook a luggage scale into the hole and pull horizontally.
- Use our torque calculator to find how hard you need to pull to get the torque you want.
Perfect For
✅ Perfect for: Cane Creek Shocks (Sealheads), compression/rebound adjusters and base valves, low-torque sealheads, and delicate internal assemblies that require small torques.
⛔ Important Warnings
⛔ Do not use on high-torque applications
This tool is not for RockShox Vivid shocks or anything requiring more than 20 Nm. You could slip, damage your part.

Important Tips
- Always seat the adapter fully on the tip of the SPA-2. If it slides inward, the torque applied will be higher.
- Support it with your thumb to help it lock into the curve of the spanner.
- Use smooth, controlled force.
- We recommend at least 4-pin engagement on the part you're turning, especially above 20 Nm — do not use this tool for high torques.
Compatibility
- ✅ Park Tool SPA-2 (Red) – fully tested
- ❓ SPA-1 – untested (let us know if it works!)
- ✅ Works with analog or digital luggage scales with hooks
Why This Tool Exists
This tool lets you confidently rebuild shocks that normally require expensive torque wrenches or specialty tools without risking overtightening. Just use the calculator :)
