RockShox Rush RC Damper-Only DIY Rebuild Toolkit

All the tools you need to open and service the Rush RC damper cartridge found in RockShox ZEB, Lyrik, and Pike BASE models from 2023 onward.

The easiest way to identify a Rush RC damper is the top cap: it uses a 24mm hex socket to open, not a cassette lockring tool like Charger RC. If you’re not sure which you have, check the top of the damper leg before ordering.

This kit includes just one tool: a single 25mm damper body clamp, designed to safely hold the larger damper tube during disassembly and bleeding. It is not compatible with Charger RC, they use different clamps.

Clamping Tip:
If your tool uses a big-diameter shaft clamp (like 20mm or more), make sure you're clamping it properly.
See the full clamping guide here: How to Use a Big Diameter Shaft Clamp
Included in This Kit:
  • 25mm Damper Body Clamp : precision-fit for the Rush RC damper

Use this clamp with soft jaws in your bench vise to avoid crushing or scratching the damper body during service.

Service Notes:
  • Follow the SRAM service manual from page 164 onward
  • This damper is almost identical to Charger RC, just with slightly different internal layout.
  • Use a 24mm socket or soft-jawed Knipex pliers to open the top cap.
  • Make sure the compression knob is fully open before reinstallation to allow the damper to self-bleed properly.
  • Bleed it just like a Charger RC or GRIP damper: fill oil to the bleed hole, stroke, install top cap, repeat gently until smooth.
Recommended Tools:
⚠️ Warnings:
- Always depressurize air systems before working on your fork
- Never clamp the damper without soft jaws and correct tools
- This clamp is only for Rush RC damper, not compatible with Charger RC
Disclaimer: This kit includes the damper body clamp only. You must supply your own oil and standard tools. Rebuild at your own risk. For full specs and guidance, consult the official SRAM manual. See our Terms of Service.
