Β RockShox Forks 50h Lower Leg + 200h Air Spring Rebuild Toolkit
Complete lower leg and air spring rebuild toolkit for most RockShox forks. Covers the full 50h/200h service interval including dust wiper replacement and air shaft rebuild.
Compatible with Pike, Lyrik, Zeb, SID, Recon and many other models. Coil forks and some older air forks may require a different clamp, see options below.

Β
Whatβs Included:
- 10mm Shaft Clamp (fits most air shafts)
- Optional: 10mm + 8mm Combo Clamp (for some older or coil forks)
- Dust Wiper Seal Press Tool (select your size using our Dust Wiper Finder)
Use our Clamp Use Guide for safe, effective shaft clamping.
Oil and Seals are not included in the kit.
How To Do It:
- Slowly depressurize the air spring in 15β20 psi steps, never all at once
- Loosen lower bolts
- Remove the crush washers before striking!
- Strike with soft mallet or 5mm Allen key to unseat shafts from the lowers
- Remove lowers and clean foam rings and stanchions
- Pop out the dust wiper seals with a rounded tip screw driver or something not sharp and narrow
- Install new dust wipers using seal press tool
- Rebuild air shaft:
- Unscrew top cap with cassettte tool, gently push sealhead to expose circlip
- Use large circlip pliers to remove circlip, protect shaft with rag if needed
- Optional: A circlip holding block will be available, but a rag works fine to protect the shaft
- Slide shaft out and inspect o-rings and glide rings
- Use only plastic picks to remove o-rings, metal tools will damage grooves
- Clamp the shaft with the 10mm shaft clamp to unscrew things (Air piston, stud, etc..)Β from the shaft if needed.
- Clean shaft with isopropyl alcohol before clamping
- Apply a thin Slickoleum coat inside the stanchion wall, not under piston
- Before reassembling lowers, add 15β20 psi to air spring to help align bolts
Pro Tips:
- Always reinstall sag ring and wire springs before inserting stanchions into dust wiperΒ seals
- Grease generously dust wipers and the lower legs bushings with Slickoleum or SRAM Butter
- Acceptable lower leg oils include RockShox 15wt, Maxima Plush, Motorex, Fox 20wt Gold
- Use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning the shaft before clamping! Not soap!
β οΈ Warnings:
- Always depressurize forks slowly and fully
- Never clamp or strike round body sections, use flat/square areas only
- Over-greasing air shafts may cause the fork to become harsh and not equalize
- Scratched o-ring grooves = long-term air leaks, use plastic picks
- Circlips can launch, wear eye protection and control tools during removal
