RockShox Boxxer 2015–2018 Full 200h Service Kit (Coil Spring Forks)
Everything you need to safely do a full 200-hour service on your 2015–2018 Boxxer RC or Team fork with coil spring. This version of the Boxxer was coil-only, which makes service even easier. No air spring service required.
Also works for the older 2011+ BoXXeR R2C2 Forks!
What's Included
- 35mm Shaft Clamp : clamps directly on the stanchion to hold the fork securely in a bench vise
-
35mm Dust Wiper Driver Tool : safely seats the dust wipers during reassembly
What You’ll Need
- Grease (Slickoleum or SRAM Butter)
- Suspension oil, see volumes below
- Circlip pliers and basic picks/tools
- Socket set or spanners for foot bolt and damper access
⚠️ Warning: The Boxxer RC uses a Motion Control Open Bath Damper, you must use the exact oil volume or the fork will underperform or be damaged. The oil lives inside the lower leg extension, not a sealed damper body.
Oil Volumes & Resources
- Boxxer RC Damper Oil Volume: 290 mL (yes, a lot!)
- See Oil Volume Chart
- Use 15wt or 10wt RockShox damper oil depending on your preferences and manual recommendation
Manuals & Guides
-
2011 Boxxer R2C2 Manual (PDF)
- For the Oil level, get a measuring tape and it should be 173mm from the top instead of a volume in mL.
- Boxxer RC Manual (PDF)
- Boxxer Team Manual (PDF)
Why the 35mm Clamp Matters
Since the Boxxer stanchions tend to rotate when removed from the bike, this tool holds them securely so you can apply proper torque to remove the damper assembly safely.
