The Modern Guard (Front & Rear)
Most mudguards that you can buy are pretty ugly (In my opinion). They're rounded, glossy, and honestly look out of place on high-end bikes. We wanted something better, something that actually matches the build quality and visual design of serious frames. These 3D-printed mudguards use angled flex zones that add structure and clean lines, giving them a more squared, modern profile that looks sharp and intentional, not like a cheap add-on.
They are weaker than PVC mudguards, if you fall a lot, maybe it's not a good idea for you. Me and my friends ride these since june in Quebec city with no issues but if you fall directly on it, it will probably break like any other mud guard.
These mudguards have built-in flex/bend zones (the lines you can see on the surface). To get that square, sharp look (or to match the exact rear triangle cross-bar of your bike).
β οΈ Do not try to bend it cold. It can crack if forced without heat. Warm it on the lines first with aΒ heat gun or even a lighter (very carefully) until the plastic becomes slightly flexible. Then bend it along the lines. You don't have to heat it up a lot, just a couple passes with a lighter and it's good to bend, You will feel it's bending easily.
- You can also heat and shape the rear triangle arch if your bike has a very narrow space between the tire and the linkage/cross-bar.Β Check clearance first, if thereβs at least 1 cm of space around the tire and frame, youβre good. Once cooled, the shape will hold strong but will be slightly weaker if you bend it too much because it can't flex on impact (like in the picture).
Choose front or rear. Rear comes in two versions.
Square edges and curves give it a sleek, structured look.Β
Text and logos are raised from the plastic, not stickered or printed. Underside has some natural roughness from the print bed. It really gives a premium feel.Β
Itβs not the easiest thing to clean like any mud guard, just use a long brush to get behind the wheel and youβre good. Definitely manageable.
For front mudguards, use long STRONG zip ties (at least 250 mm) to wrap around the fork lower legs. Tighten them firmly to prevent movement.
For the rear mudguard, there is only one mounting layout:Β three zip ties per side. We don't include middle holes for cross-brace mounting, this allows the guard to flex under impact rather than crack.
There are two rear shape options, depending on what you value most:
- HighFit: Sticks out more at the top, giving a sleek, aggressive look. Less mud goes on the seat post. Still offers good mud protection in the rear triangle, and looks better on most bikes. Slightly more exposed, so itβs a bit easier to break.
- LowFit: Sticks out more toward the bottom, with a lower top profile. Itβs better if you want maximum protection from mud entering your rear triangle and suspension linkage area. More protected from impacts due to its compact upper shape.
These mudguards have been ridden very hard for over two months across multiple bikes.Theyβve been through heavy trail use, a few crashes, and daily riding and theyβre still holding up great and looking clean.
Weβve only seen one documented break. Β A test rider went over the bars in a rockgarden, the bike flew backwards with the rear mudguard bent fully in the wrong direction. A rock must have pierced into it directly. Even the rider wasnβt sure how it happened but it was extreme enough that it also snapped a real genuine Fox 38 front mudguard on impact as well.
We sent that rider two new rear mudguard variants to test, and even replaced their broken Fox guard because we were confident in our design. Our guards are actually more flexible than the Fox factory ones, so theyβre less likely to break in normal crashes. But of course, if it bends in the completely wrong direction with force, it can snap, just like any plastic guard, even a $60 PVC one.
That weird incident actually helped inspire the LowFit variant, which sits lower and exposes less up top. It blocks more mud from entering the frame while also being less likely to get hit in a crash. Even if this kind of break is rare, we figured it was worth addressing.
