Β Fox GRIP Damper + 10mm + 8mm Shaft Combo Clamp

The complete clamping solution for Fox GRIP dampers, includes the GRIP body clamp, a 10mm shaft clamp, and now the 8mm clamp for full service access, including the top cap needle seal.

I added an image of me screwing back in the rebound assembly into an older fit RC2 damper shaft in a fox 40 with HBO! it works the same with any 10mm shaft.

⚠️ Warning: Never clamp directly on any GRIP damper body or damper shaft without the proper tool. This combo clamp gives you everything you need for safe and clean servicing.

Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and wrap in paper before clamping. Full usage manuals:
- How to Clamp Large Diameters
- How to Clamp Small Shafts

Β What It Does

  • Securely holds your GRIP damper body to remove or inspect the compression assembly
  • 10mm clamp lets you clamp the shaft to slide out the sealhead to replace damper oil. You cam also work on the midvalve but it's not recommanded on VVC HSR.
  • 8mm clamp allows removal of the needle from the compression assembly if leaking at the top cap by clamping on the compression assembly middle shaft.
  • Supports all GRIP generations: GRIP 1, GRIP 2, VVC, GRIP X, GRIP X2
  • Not Needed for the X and X2.
  • This is the only clamp set you'll need to do a complete rebuild on any Fox GRIP damper

Β Compatibility Notes

  • Fits Fox 32, 34, 36, 38, and 40 forks using GRIP dampers
  • Does not fit Fox forks with taper-cast lowers,Β support for lower leg driver coming soon
  • You'll still need a 6-in-1 top cap socket like this one for damper top cap removal
Important Oil Compatibility Note:
GRIP dampers ingest lower leg oil over time, always match your damper and lower oil.

Use Fox 4wt fluid in both the damper and lowers.
Use Fox 20wt Gold in the air spring side of the fork.

Never mix 4wt in the damper and 20wt in the lowers, it will thicken and harm performance over time.

Β Extra Tips for Internal Service

  • You don’t need a bullet tool to reinstall the sealhead, just coat the shaft and threads generously with Slickoleum or SRAM Butter
  • Slide the sealhead in carefully from the rebound side (recommended) to avoid damaging the seal lip
  • If you open the mid-valve (not recommended on VVC forks), keep all shims in exact order and orientation, use a pick or screwdriver to hold them
  • Do not open the mid-valve on GRIP2/VVC forks unless you know how to reassemble with correct float settings, incorrect reassembly will cause rebound issues or make the fork unsafe
