Fox GRIP X Damper + Air Shaft Full 200h Rebuild Toolkit (2025+)
Complete 200h service toolkit for the FOX GRIP X damper and air spring. GRIP X is a lightweight evolution of GRIP2 with no VVC Compression and no HSR adjuster. Factory HSR tune is slow, so expect to run LSR relatively open. Very home-mechanic friendly.
GRIP X forks are simple to refresh if you follow the basics outlined below.
What's Included
- 10 mm Shaft Clamp (shared by GRIP damper shaft and air shaft)
- Basic lower-leg tools and top-cap tools are required but NOT included. This kit is only for damper work.
Oil + Grease Info
- Fox 4wt, damper & damper-side lowers
- Fox 20wt Gold, air-side lowers
- Slickoleum or Sram Butter
References & Guides
Air Spring Service
- Remove top cap using a cassette tool or socket
- Slide out air shaft, clean shaft + seals
- Replace main piston o-ring + sealhead o-ring if worn
- Light coat of SRAM Butter on seals, thin layer on inner walls
Pro Tips
- Damper can be serviced without clamps if careful, only clamp square flats.
- Change IFP o-ring, base-valve o-ring, and thread seal. Don’t open shim stacks unless re-valving.
- Never insert the damper shaft fully after bleeding, leave 2–3 cm from the top or you’ll underfill the damper.
Warnings
- Clamp on square flats only, never on round sections or damper body
- Mid-valve nut is plastic, extremely fragile
- Always depressurize air + damper before opening
- Do not overfill damper, it will spray when inserting compression assembly
