Fox GRIP X Damper + Air Shaft Full 200h Rebuild Toolkit (2025+)

Complete service kit for both damper and air spring on the FOX GRIP X, a lightweight evolution of the GRIP2 platform with no VVC Compression. No HSR adjuster but the HSR shims are pretty slow from factory, you will have to run LSR pretty fast. Great for home mechanics.

Forks with GRIP X are simple to refresh if you follow the basics.

What's Included:
  • 10mm Shaft Clamp (shared by both GRIP damper shaft and air shaft)
  • A couple of tools for basic for service are required for this but are not included in the kit like the top cap tool and all the tools for  lower leg service, this is only for the damper service!
Oil + Grease Info:
  • Fox 4wt fluid in damper AND damper-side lowers
  • Fox 20wt Gold in air-side lowers
  • Slickoleum or Fox Float Fluid on piston and air seals
Air Spring Service:
  • Remove top cap with cassette tool or socket
  • Slide out air shaft, wipe clean, inspect shaft and seals
  • Replace main piston o-ring and sealhead o-ring if worn
  • Grease Lightly the seals with SRAM Butter and put on thin layer on the walls where the piston slides.
⚠️ Warnings:
- Clamp only on square flats, never on round shaft or damper body
- The mid-valve nut is made of plastic and very fragile, be carefull not to break it.
- Always depressurize air and damper before opening
- Do not overfill damper it will just spray everywhere when you insert the compression assembly.

 Pro Tips

  • The damper can be rebuilt without clamps if you're careful, just use soft jaws and only clamp on square areas
  • Change IFP o-ring, thread seal, and base valve o-ring, don’t open the shim stacks unless you're revalving
  • Never insert the damper shaft fully after the bleed is done, always leave 2-3cm from the top when stroking or the damper will not have enough oil inside.

Disclaimer: This kit is for home mechanics only. Read all manuals before use. Don’t clamp directly on round or anodized sections. See Terms of Service.
