DHX2 2026+ Shaft Clamp (Horizontal, One-Piece)

Horizontal one-piece shaft clamp for servicing the FOX DHX2 2026+ monotube shock. Designed to hold the damper body securely on a bench vise so you can press straight down on the base valve socket without the tool slipping.

⚠️ Important notes (read before buying)
  • Only use this tool if your shock requires base valve service. If the shock is working correctly, do not disassemble it, unnecessary damage is very easy to cause.
  • This clamp is strongly recommended when using the base valve socket (12 short pins). Without it, you risk damaging the shock.
What this tool does

Holds the DHX2 2026+ damper body horizontally and securely in a bench vise, allowing you to press straight down on the base valve socket. This is critical, pressing at an angle causes the socket to slip and can permanently damage the base valve.

The clamp is horizontal and one-piece: open it slightly, slide the damper body in, and clamp it in your vise. Clean, fast, and very secure. Works for both the vertical parallel piggyback and perpendicular piggyback versions of the DHX2 2026+.

FOX's own manual recommends a vertical clamp — in my experience this is an inferior option. The horizontal design lets you apply downward force on the socket cleanly, which is exactly what the job requires.

Compatibility
  • FOX DHX2 2026+ — monotube, vertical parallel piggyback
  • FOX DHX2 2026+ — monotube, perpendicular piggyback

Also included in the Advanced 500h Kit for DHX2 2026+ service.

Not compatible with

FOX Float X2 any year — different damper body

Setup tips
  • Clean the damper body thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before clamping
  • Wrap the body with a single layer of dry paper towel to increase friction and prevent slipping
  • Open the clamp slightly, slide the damper body in, then tighten in the bench vise
  • Always press straight down on the base valve socket — never at an angle
  • Use with the 12 short pin base valve socket — this clamp is designed to complement that tool
