Float X2 2019–2020 Seal Head Splined Socket

This tool lets you safely remove the seal head on 2019–2020 Fox Float X2 shocks. It’s available in two versions: closed (requires eyelet removal) or open (slides over the shaft without removing the eyelet perfect for quick oil changes or just to not wear out the 9mm narrow x2 shaft clamp because 9mm is very small for a tiny clamp like that).

 Choose Your Style

  • Open Socket: Great for fast service, oil changes, etc. No need to remove the eyelet. Just slide it on and you're good to go.
  • Closed Socket: A bit stronger. Use when you’ve already removed the eyelet or want full access to internals. It will make your 9mm Narrow shaft clamp wear out faster.

How to do the special technique to open the shock without removing the eyelet.

 What It Works With

  • Fox Float X2 (2019–2020 only)

 Not Compatible With

  • Float X2 2016–2018: Just use a 14 mm wrench. No socket needed. Just be careful not to touch the shaft.
  • Float X2 2021–2025: Needs a different pin socket - View Tool
  • Float X2 2026+ (Monotube): Tool not yet available, you can open it with a strap wrench if you really need to.

 Why Use the Open Version?

  • Faster access when you're just doing an oil change
  • Less teardown, feels more like working on a coil shock

 What It's Made Of

Strong polymer body with a splined interface made to match the 2019–2020 sealhead precisely, even more fit than the real metal tool. It’s designed for home use, tight tolerances, no play at all like it's exactly the same shape (up to 0.01mm), works great if you follow all instructions.

⚠️ Safety & Torque Warnings

  • Always depressurize your shock completely before opening air pressure can cause serious injury
  • Do not over-torque when reinstalling the seal head. You can crack the damper body if you’re careless and make sure the the inner damper tube is inserted well.
