DVO Fork Shaft Punches
Helps knock the air shaft or damper shaft loose during lower leg service on DVO forks. Based on the DVO manuals, you usually just use a mallet directly on the adjuster, but these punches can help when the shaft is deep inside the lowers or harder to access.
What’s Included:
- Pair of 10mm shaft punches, printed in a reinforced polymer
These are experimental, not officially approved by DVO, but they match the shaft sizes well and should work fine based on our tests (see photos). If you have feedback, please send it, we're happy to improve them!
When It’s Useful:
- If the shaft is recessed deep in the lower legs (e.g., taper-cast forks like some Fox or tight DVO fits)
- If you want to avoid tapping directly on the rebound adjuster or OTT knob but it doesn't matter if you're using a soft mallet, just go gently like that.
Video Reference:
At 3:00 in this video, you can see the procedure used to strike the damper and air shafts into the lowers.
Not usually needed: DVO techs just tap the shaft adjusters with a rubber mallet after loosening the foot nuts. But this tool makes it easier and safer in some cases.
Compatibility:
- All DVO forks with 10mm shaft ends (Diamond, Beryl, Sapphire, older Onyx, etc.)
- Not required on the new Onyx SL 38: that fork has much easier shaft access and no OTT
Photos + Demo:
We’ve simulated fitment using a mock 10mm DVO shaft in testing. Check the product photos for reference. If you have a real-world photo using them during service, feel free to send it in, we’ll post it!

Disclaimer:
These are not officially licensed DVO tools and should be used carefully. Always loosen foot nuts fully and never strike the shaft aggressively. See official DVO manuals at DVO Service Guides.
