• 18 mm socket (foot nuts)
• Rubber/plastic mallet
• Pin spanner or circlip pliers (for air cartridge sealhead)
• Heat gun (to soften red Loctite)
• Long wood/plastic dowel (to push air piston out)
• Marine grease (for OTT spring)
• 25 cc per side of 7.5 wt fork oil
• Allen key (to verify OTT function)
• Blue Loctite
• Air pump

• The DVO air spring is a sealed cartridge: clamp only at the top (manual page 4, step 10).
• The air piston is not attached to the shaft; it must be pushed out gently:
  • It looks like an IFP, or essentially acts like one, but it’s easier to service since the piston comes in the DVO kit.
• Always apply marine grease generously to the OTT coil spring so it doesn’t contaminate the air spring.
• Heat the stanchion externally to weaken Loctite before sealhead removal.
• After assembly, verify the OTT adjuster rotates properly with an Allen key.
• Then perform a standard 50h lower leg service with dust wiper replacement.
• Add 5–7 cc of oil to the positive air chamber (too much acts like a volume spacer).

This kit does not apply to the inverted DVO Emerald. It only requires the 36 mm dust wiper seal press. Service video: Watch Emerald Service.

• Never clamp the cartridge in the middle, only near the top cap.
• Never use red Loctite, use blue only.
• Be cautious with the pin spanner to avoid rounding sealhead holes.
• Verify air pressure and OTT adjuster function after reassembly.
