DVO Fork - 50h Lower Leg Service Kit (No Dust Wiper Replacement)
For most DVO forks including the Onyx, Diamond, Sapphire, and others (except the inverted Emerald). This kit is meant for the standard 50-hour lower leg oil change, it does not include tools for replacing the dust wipers.
Don't forget to grease the insides of the dust wiper seals and the lower legs bushings before inserting the stanchions! Quite the trick to reduce stick friction and stanchion wear.
Also, re-soaking your foam rings with oil is a good idea, they will probably be very dry.
- Optional pair of 10mm shaft punches, for knocking the damper and air shaft loose (experimental, not fully tested yet) and as you can see, I basically made a simalulated 10mm DVO shaft to test the fit lol.
- It's only needed when the shafts don't stick out from the lowers on light XC forks.
- If you have the NEW Onyx SL 38, you might have a normal air shaft with no OTT so you need to just use a soft mallet.
⚠️ This product does not include a dust wiper press tool. If you need to replace seals, please check our 50h kit with dust wiper replacement.
- 18mm socket : for foot nuts
- Plastic or rubber mallet : to gently tap adjusters
- Isopropyl alcohol and lint-free cloth
- 25cc per side of 7.5wt fork oil (or any lower leg oil)
- Air pump to re-pressurize fork
- Top Cap Tool : required if removing top caps
⚠️ About the Shaft Punches:
The DVO manual shows them using punches to dislodge the shaft after loosening the foot nuts. We’ve included a pair of experimental 10mm shaft punches as an optional add-on. If they work well for you, let us know, they’re printed from reinforced polymer and only cost $10 for the pair.
You can also use a rubber mallet to tap the foot nuts gently and get the same effect but sometimes, the shaft are hidden inside the lowers and you can't get to them.
This kit is not compatible with the inverted DVO Emerald. That fork uses a different structure and service method you can follow this video instead. But basically, it's even simpler and you need no custom tools as well.
