DVO Fork β 50h Lower Leg Service Kit (No Dust Wiper Replacement)
For most DVO forks including the Onyx, Diamond, Sapphire, and others (except the inverted Emerald). This kit is meant for the standard 50-hour lower leg oil change, it does not include tools for dust wiper replacement.
Don't forget to grease the inside of the dust wipers and the lower-leg bushings before inserting the stanchions, big friction reduction and improved fork feel.
Re-soak your foam rings with oil too, they will probably be dry.
Whatβs Included
- Optional pair of 10 mm shaft punches for knocking the damper + air shaft loose (experimental)
- They are only needed when the shaft does not protrude from the lowers (common on light XC forks)
- If you have the new Onyx SL 38, you may have a normal air shaft with no OTT, just use a soft mallet
β οΈ This kit does NOT include a dust wiper press tool. If you need to replace seals, choose the 50h kit that includes dust wiper service.
What Youβll Need
- 18 mm socket, for foot nuts
- Plastic or rubber mallet,Β to gently tap adjusters
- Isopropyl alcohol + lint-free cloth
- 25 cc per side of 7.5 wt fork oil (or any lower-leg oil)
- Air pump
- Top Cap Tool (if removing top caps)
How To Do It
Quick steps:
- Release all air pressure & fully extend the fork
- Loosen but do NOT remove the air and damper foot nuts
- Tap the nuts or use a punch to dislodge the shafts, then slide the lowers off
About the Shaft Punches
The DVO manual shows punches being used to dislodge the shaft after loosening the foot nuts.
Our optional pair of 10 mm punches is experimental, reinforced polymer, only $10. If you try them, tell us how they work.
You can also use a rubber mallet instead, but when the shaft is recessed inside the lowers, punches help a lot.
