Precision 4-pin tool designed to remove seized SRAM DUB self-extracting crank caps.

⚠️ Extremely Tight Fit — This Is Intentional

This tool is intentionally designed with an extremely tight pin fit to prevent slipping and damage when removing seized DUB caps.

During the first use, you may need to apply firm pressure to fully seat the tool. Make sure all 4 pins enter the holes at the same time while keeping the tool perfectly flat against the cap.

Do not engage 3 pins first and then force the 4th. If the fit feels very tight, that is normal and expected.

After the first installation, the fit will typically become slightly easier while still maintaining the secure engagement needed to prevent slipping.

What this tool does

This tool engages all four holes of the SRAM DUB self-extracting cap with a precise, deep fit. Unlike standard pin wrenches, it uses the full depth of the holes instead of just the top edge.

This allows you to remove seized caps without stripping or deforming the holes, which is very common with 2-pin tools like SPA wrenches.

The center of the tool remains open, allowing access to an 8mm Allen key if you need to hold or remove the crank bolt while the tool is installed.

Compatible with
  • SRAM DUB self-extracting crank caps
  • Used on SRAM cranksets with 4-hole extractor caps
  • Equivalent to Abbey Bike Tools DUB Self-Extracting Cap Tool
  • Designed exclusively for SRAM DUB caps
  • Not compatible with Atherton cranksets
Why this tool works better
  • 4-pin engagement instead of 2 → much higher stability
  • Full-depth pin contact → no slipping on worn or seized caps
  • Very tight tolerances for a snug, controlled fit
  • High-quality stainless steel pins to prevent deformation
How to use
  • Install the tool fully into all 4 holes before applying torque
  • Use a 32mm wrench or smooth-jaw pliers on the outer body
  • Keep the tool straight and fully seated during use
  • If needed, insert an 8mm Allen key through the center
Thread direction (important)

The self-extracting cap uses a reverse thread. To loosen it, you must turn in the opposite direction compared to standard bolts.

This is a common source of confusion and can easily lead to overtightening instead of removal.

Directional arrows are marked directly on the tool to clearly indicate loosening and tightening directions.

⚠️ Disclaimer

Always ensure proper engagement before applying torque. Incorrect use or wrong direction can damage the cap. By purchasing or using this tool, you agree to our Terms of Service.
