Universal Dropper Post Shaft Clamp – Angled 25° Combo Tool
The compact version of our dropper combo clamp, set at a 25° angle so long dropper posts clear the center of the vise instead of running into the bench. Three bores cover all major diameters: 27.2 mm, a shared 30.9 / 31.6 mm bore, and 34.9 mm. One tool, less clamps in the drawer.
Why 25° and Only 3 Bores
- The angle clears the vise. Dropper posts are long. Tilting the clamp 25° pushes the post off to the side so you are not fighting for clearance around the vise body or the bench edge.
- Three bores instead of four. 30.9 mm and 31.6 mm are close enough that we cut a single in-between bore for both, which makes the whole tool smaller and lighter.
- Need more bite on a 30.9? Wrap a layer of paper towel around the post body before closing the clamp. That takes up the small difference and gives you a solid grip.
⚠️ Warning
Incorrect clamping, uneven pressure, dirt between surfaces, or partial contact can scratch or deform your post. Always clean the surface properly and follow the big-diameter clamp guide to prevent damage.
On the shared 30.9 / 31.6 bore, check that the shim material sits evenly all the way around the post before you tighten. A bunched or partial wrap creates a pressure point and can mark the post.
Compatibility
- Works with 27.2 mm, 30.9 mm, 31.6 mm, and 34.9 mm round dropper posts.
- 30.9 mm and 31.6 mm share one in-between bore. Add a layer of paper towel on a 30.9 mm post for extra grip.
- Compatible with most major brands: Fox Transfer, RockShox Reverb, OneUp V2, PNW, BikeYoke Revive, KS, and more.
Tip: The angled version is the one to grab if your vise sits close to a wall or a bench edge, or if you service long-travel posts regularly.
How to Use the Clamp
- Clean the dropper post surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
- Wrap the post in a single layer of paper towel to increase grip and reduce clamp force. On a 30.9 mm post in the shared bore, this step is not optional.
- Set the clamp in the vise with the angle running clear of the bench, then close it evenly on both sides and tighten gently until secured.
- For large diameters (30.9 / 31.6 / 34.9), follow the official guide here:
How to Use Big Diameter Shaft Clamps - Once the clamp grips securely, proceed with your dropper service.
