Air Fill Adaptor | STL File (No physical product)

The Air Fill Adaptor is the digital version print file of the new adapter FOX uses on the DHX2 and Float X2. It is functionally equivalent to the 2026 FOX Float X2 & DHX2 Air Fill Adaptor (#803-04-357) and is also compatible with any shock that uses the standard red RockShox air fill adapter. Our version is the same design but longer.

If you have access to a 3D printer, you can print this adaptor and use it for your suspension service without needing the OEM tool.

Two things are non-negotiable

1. Print the file that matches your material. You get two STL files: one for ASA and one for PETG. They are not the same model. The two materials shrink differently as they cool, so each file is dimensioned to land on the correct size after that shrinkage. Slice the ASA file in PETG, or the other way around, and the fit on the shock threads and the pump will be wrong. Check which file you loaded before you hit print.

2. You must use a -006 N-70 o-ring. The o-ring is what seals, full stop. Without it you will not get a seal, no matter how hard you tighten, and tightening harder is exactly how you snap the adaptor off inside your shock. Buy the o-rings before you print.

Don't want to order any? The red RockShox adapter you already own has an o-ring that is slightly smaller, but it should still seal on this one — good enough to get the job done today. For the proper fit, a pack of 100 -006 o-rings runs about $3. It's a standard size, sold at any o-ring or hydraulic supply shop in your city, so there is really no reason to be short on them.

⚠️ Fair warning: this is a DIY printed tool. It will do the job, but at some point it will probably break off inside your shock. The threads on the shock side are very small, do not overtighten, be gentle. The o-ring does the sealing, not the torque. Check the photos, I show exactly how to use the knife technique to extract it when it breaks. If you're a pro or doing this regularly, the real OEM tool is worth buying. This one is for the home mechanic who needs to get the job done.

ASA or PETG? (I recommend ASA)

ASA is the best material I have tried for this part. It is super stiff, which is exactly what you want on a small threaded fitting, and it prints with almost no stringing. If you can run ASA, run ASA.

PETG works, but it is the weaker option. I used it and it did the job, but it snapped on me a couple of times. PETG is simply too flexy for threads this small — it bends where you want it to stay put, and that is what leads to a break.

That's why the PETG file exists at all: not because it's just as good, but because not every printer can run ASA properly. If PETG is your only option, use the PETG file and be extra gentle on the threads.

How It Works

The adaptor threads into your shock's air valve port and allows you to fill or bleed the air chamber during service. It works the same way as the OEM FOX and RockShox equivalents, just with a longer body because the rezi blocks the old one by 1-2mm.

The threads on the shock are very small and delicate, finger tight is enough. The -006 N-70 o-ring is what creates the seal, so do not rely on torque. Over-tightening is the fastest way to break the adaptor off inside your shock.

If it does break off, don't panic, check the photos for the knife technique. Insert a thin blade into the adaptor and carefully unscrew it out of the shock.

Important Notes

This tool is only intended for shocks compatible with the standard red RockShox air fill adapter or the FOX Float X2 & DHX2 air fill adaptor.

Match the file to the material. ASA file for ASA, PETG file for PETG. The tolerances are built around each material's shrinkage, so the wrong file will not fit the shock or the pump correctly — and a bad fit on those small threads is how the tool breaks.

Always have your -006 N-70 o-rings ready before use. Without them, you will not get a proper seal. In a pinch, the o-ring off your red RockShox adapter is a bit smaller but should still work.

Do not overtighten. The threads on the shock side are small and the tool is 3D printed. Finger tight is all you need, the o-ring handles the seal.

If the adaptor breaks off inside the shock, do not panic. Check the photos, insert a thin knife blade into the adaptor body to carefully unscrew and extract it. Take your time and work gently.

Print Specifications
  • Material: ASA (recommended) or PETG — use the matching STL file
  • Layer height: 0.12 mm — do not go coarser, this is what makes the threads usable
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Walls: 10 walls — critical, see below
  • Infill: 100%
  • Supports: Required

0.12 mm layers. The threads on this part are tiny. At a coarser layer height they come out stepped and sloppy, they bite badly into the shock, and that is when things break. This setting matters more than any other one on the list.

10 walls, and do not cut them because you set 100% infill. People see 100% and assume the wall count stops mattering. It does not — the strength of a small threaded fitting lives in the perimeters, not in the fill. Set 10 walls and leave them there.

Print this tool strong. Do not reduce walls or infill, a proper seal depends on a rigid, well-printed adaptor.

ASA needs an enclosed printer and a hot chamber to come out dimensionally correct. If your machine can't run ASA properly, print the PETG file with the PETG settings — don't run the ASA file in another material.
