35mm Shaft Clamp for Fork Stanchions
A precision clamp designed to hold 35 mm diameter stanchions securely in a bench vise. Especially useful for double-crown forks like older Boxxer models where the stanchions rotate freely once removed from the bike, and for inverted forks, where 35 mm is one of the most common upper tube sizes.
Available in two versions at the same price: straight or angled 35°. Both use the same 360° clamping surface and hold identically, the only difference is how the stanchion sits relative to your vise.
Straight: best if you have a big wide vise where you can clamp off to the side and let the stanchion hang past the edge.
Angled: best if you have a small vise, or one with a wide bottom casting that gets in the way of long straight parts. The angle sends the stanchion off to the side so it clears the center of the vise instead of running into it.
Not sure? Look at your vise. If a 35 mm tube standing straight up in the jaws would hit the base or the bench, pick angled.

What It’s For
- Clamps directly onto 35 mm stanchion tubes
- Holds the fork stanchion securely while loosening compression assemblies
- Essential for servicing older dual-crown forks (Boxxer 2011–2023)
- Works on inverted forks, where the 35 mm upper tube is a very common standard
- Prevents stanchion rotation when applying torque

| Fork | Stanchion | Fits? |
|---|---|---|
| RockShox BoXXer 2011–2023 | 35 mm | ✅ Yes |
| RockShox BoXXer 2024+ | 38 mm | ❌ No — use our 38 mm clamp |
| Intend most inverted forks | 35 mm | ✅ Yes |
| Marzocchi 888 (older) | 35 mm | ✅ Yes |
| Fox 40 | 40 mm | ❌ No — use our 40 mm clamp |
| Öhlins DH38 | 38 mm | ❌ No — use our 38 mm clamp |
| Any other 35 mm stanchion fork | 35 mm | ✅ Yes |
The chart goes by stanchion diameter, not fork model — if your tube measures 35 mm, this clamp fits it. Not sure of your size? Use our Dust Wiper Seal Finder Tool , it uses the exact same diameter reference.
Fitment is identical on both the straight and angled versions — same 35 mm bore, same forks.
Extra Tip for Best Grip
If the stanchion is oily, dusty, or greasy, the clamp will slip. Clean with isopropyl alcohol, wrap once with printer paper or paper towel, then add a tiny dab of alcohol on top. It dramatically increases grip, you’ll be surprised how well it locks in.
Angled version: set it in the jaws with the tilt running clear of the vise center before you close it, so you are not repositioning under load.
