34.9mm Dropper Post Shaft Clamp | Straight/Angled
Engineered for modern 34.9 mm oversize droppers. This clamp provides the holding power needed for larger posts, distributing force evenly to protect the anodized finish while you service cartridges and head assemblies.
Available in two versions at the same price: straight or angled 35°. Both use the same 360° clamping surface and hold identically, the only difference is how the post sits relative to your vise.
Straight: best if you have a big wide vise where you can clamp off to the side and let the post hang past the edge.
Angled 35°: best if you have a small vise, or one with a wide bottom casting that gets in the way of long straight parts. The angle sends the post off to the side so it clears the center of the vise instead of running into it.
Why You Need This
- Oversize 34.9 mm shafts require higher holding force to loosen cartridge and head assemblies.
- Direct clamping in a vise will instantly mark or ovalize the shaft.
- This clamp provides full 360° contact to spread load evenly and avoid localized damage.
- Whichever version you choose, the goal is the same: hold the post solid without fighting your vise for room.
How to Use
- Clean both the shaft and the clamp thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
- Wrap the shaft in one single layer of paper towel or shop towel.
- Install the clamp and close it fully before placing it in the vise.
- Angled version: set it in the jaws with the tilt running clear of the vise center before you close it, so you are not repositioning under load.
- Apply even clamping force, never crushing pressure.

⚠️ Warning
Contamination, misalignment, or partial contact can permanently scratch or deform the shaft. Oversize droppers transmit more torque than smaller posts. Cleanliness and correct positioning are critical.
Never clamp over the collar, actuator, or cable entry.
