30.9 mm Dropper Post Shaft Clamp Tool

Made for 30.9 mm dropper shafts, one of the most common post standards. This clamp ensures stable, non-damaging retention in a bench vise while you service cartridges, heads, or actuator systems.

Why You Need This

• Dropper shafts spin freely once removed from the frame, clamping is essential for service.
• Cartridges and head assemblies are often factory-tight and require a secure hold to loosen safely.
• Provides full 360° contact for reliable grip without crushing or marking the surface.

How to Use It Properly

• Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove all grease and dust.
• Wrap the tube in one clean layer of paper towel (optional but improves grip).
• Spray 1–2 times inside the clamp with isopropyl alcohol for extra friction.
• Seat the clamp fully around a straight section of the shaft, never on collars, logos, or cable ports.
• Clamp in your vise evenly and firmly. If it slips, stop and re-clean instead of over-tightening.

Tip: The size is laser-etched on most posts. Don’t rely on frame seat tube markings, they may not match the post diameter.
