27.2 mm Dropper Post Shaft Clamp Tool
Built for 27.2 mm diameter dropper post shafts commonly found on XC and gravel bikes. This clamp provides a secure hold in a bench vise for cartridge and head service without damaging the thin wall construction.
Why You Need This
- 27.2 mm posts have thinner walls and are easier to crush with improper clamping.
- Stabilizes the shaft for safe disassembly of cartridges and head assemblies.
- Provides full 360Β° surface contact to protect the anodized finish.
How to Use It Properly
- Clean the shaft thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
- Wrap one clean sheet of paper towel around the tube.
- Spray 1β2 times inside the clamp with alcohol to increase grip.
- Seat the clamp fully around the shaft, never across partial surfaces.
- Close the vise gently but firmly. If slipping occurs, stop and re-clean.
Warning: 27.2 mm tubes are fragile, do not overtighten. Never clamp over the collar, actuator, or cable entry. Even minor dirt can scratch permanently.
