DHX2 / Float X2 Damper Body Shaft Clamp (2021–2025)
Clamp intended for advanced damper service on FOX Float X2 and DHX2. It grips the large damper body so it can be locked in a vise and unscrewed, typically to repair external leaks or broken tube.
⚠️ Important notes (read before buying)
- Only use this tool if your shock is leaking or damaged. If it works correctly, do not disassemble it, unnecessary damage is very easy to cause.
What this tool does
Allows the outer damper tube to be held securely in a bench vise while it is unscrewed from the inner damper body. This operation is typically performed to replace a cracked damper cylinder or to repair oil leaks around the base of the damper.
Compatible with both polished Float X2 damper bodies and threaded DHX2 damper bodies.

Not compatible with
- Float X2 / DHX2 2016–2020, different damper body size
- Float X2 2026+, damper body size is different
Setup tips
- Clean the damper body thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before clamping
- Wrap the body with a single layer of dry paper towel to increase friction and prevent slipping
- Apply heat gradually before attempting to loosen the damper body
- Follow the clamp technique exactly, force alone will destroy the shock
