Universal Shaft Diameter Meter

Checking a shaft diameter with a caliper is annoying, slow, and honestly risky. One small slip can scratch a polished shaft and create future leaks. Most people end up guessing and trying different shaft clamps until one fits. This tool skips all that. In 1–3 seconds, you know the exact diameter, safely.

Why calipers are a bad idea here
  • Hard to position: damper shafts and air shafts are short, slippery, and awkward to measure.
  • Easy to scratch: metal calipers near polished shafts is asking for trouble.
  • Time-wasting: you end up testing shaft clamps one by one anyway.
How this tool fixes the problem

Instead of measuring, you verify. Drop the meter over the shaft and the correct size seats instantly. If it does not fit perfectly, you move to the next size. The right diameter is obvious immediately.

Fast and shaft-safe
  • 1–3 seconds: faster than grabbing calipers and adjusting them.
  • Zero scratch risk: no metal edges touching the shaft surface.
  • No guessing: you know the size before touching your shaft clamp.
  • Cleaner workflow: grab the right tool on the first try.
Covered Shaft Diameters

8 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm (3/8"), 10 mm, 12 mm, 12.7 mm (1/2"), 14 mm, and 5/8" (15.85 mm).

The only uncommon size not included is the 13 mm Formula MOD shock shaft. If your shaft measures above 12.7 mm and below 14 mm, it is almost certainly that one.

When it becomes essential

Any time you are about to use a shaft clamp, bullet tool, or rebuild kit. One quick check avoids forcing the wrong clamp, damaging a shaft, or stopping mid-job because something does not fit.

Why it earns a permanent spot on the bench

It replaces calipers for this job entirely. Once you use it a few times, measuring shaft diameters any other way feels slow, risky, and unnecessary.
