Sacrificial 3/8 drive Socket Size Calculator
Β Socket Size Calculator
This calculator helps you find the correct clip-in socket size for your torque wrench based on the square drive width in millimeters. Itβs used with both the Trunnion Shock Vise Holder and Eyelet Torque Tool.
Each tool includes 4 sacrificial sockets designed to wear or break before the tool does. Thatβs normal. Measure your torque wrench square precisely with a digital caliper (to 0.01 mm) for a snug fit. Too tight = it wonβt insert. Too loose = you wonβt reach 12 Nm. Max torque is 18 Nm, but we recommend 16 Nm for safe, repeatable use.
We highly recommend using a luggage scale instead of a traditional torque wrench. Itβs cheaper, more accurate, and easier on the tool and doesn't actually use these weak sockets so you can use the tool forever. All our tools list their handle length (e.g., 15 cm), so you can calculate torque easily using our Torque Calculator.
The Shopify store canβt do the calculation directly (I tried to but they don't like custom Java Script and just keep erasing it)
