Rockshox Charger 2/2.1 — Damper Only Rebuild Toolkit pre-2023
Charger 2 & 2.1 Damper-Only Rebuild Toolkit
This kit is for mechanics servicing Charger 2 and 2.1 dampers with a closed bladder system. These were used in forks like the Lyrik, Yari, and Pike (2017–2022). The rebuild is more involved than Charger RC, but fully doable with care.
You do not need any special tools from us to rebuild a Charger 2 / 2.1 damper.
Need seals? +
⚠️ Read this carefully +
You do not need special tools from us, but you must have a RockShox bleed syringe + adapter or a brake bleed syringe that fits tightly.
Important clamping note +
Charger 2 & 2.1 dampers have flat faces on the damper body specifically for safe clamping (see service manual, page 66).
Do not clamp the round section. Use soft jaws and light pressure. You only clamp the damper body flats, never the shaft.
What you’ll need +
- 24mm socket or cassette tool (varies by fork model)
- RockShox bleed syringe & adapter
- SRAM Butter
- RockShox 3wt damper oil
- Patience for bleeding the bladder thoroughly
Known issues & extra resources +
Charger 2 / 2.1 dampers commonly develop compression issues in the base valve. SRAM usually recommends replacing the damper, but full service is possible.
Optional add-on +
If you plan to open the compression base valve as shown in the PUSH manual, consider adding a 10mm shaft clamp.
Helpful manuals +
⚠️ Warnings +
- Do not clamp the round section of the damper body
- Always depressurize before servicing
- Bladder must be fully bled or LSC will not function
Disclaimer +
This listing includes no tools by default. Add a 10mm shaft clamp only if you plan to dismantle the base valve. Use at your own risk and always follow SRAM and PUSH documentation. By purchasing, you agree to our Terms of Service.
